About the Author
His recent accomplishments includes working as a Master Trainer for the Summit County Fatherhood Initiative and The State of Ohio Commission on Fatherhood, teaching other Men and Women in his Community and across Northeast Ohio how to facilitate fatherhood education classes at Homeless Shelters, Community Based Correctional Facilities and Substance abuse Recovery Centers.
Mr. Lykes has also developed an education and training program to teach urban fathers about employment opportunities in renewable and energy efficiencies. He wrote award-winning grants to Local, Regional and National Organizations and Foundations. He is the Co-Founder of the Summit County Fatherhood Initiative and has implemented advanced fatherhood education programming in Summit County. Mr. Lykes co-sponsored the first Fatherhood Awareness Breakfast in Summit County,started the first Single Father Mentoring Program in Summit Country and supported the first Father Walk and the first Fatherhood Summit in Akron, Ohio. He is the Founder and Executive Director of Fathers and Sons of Northeast Ohio and Creator of the Fatherhood Advocate Resource Center, and access and visitation program for low income fathers in Summit/Portage and Stark and Medina counties.
Mr. Lykes a program developer has succussfully developed fatherhood sites at the Summit County Oriana House CBCF Male Facility,the domicilary at the Louis Stokes Veterans Medical Center in Brecksville, Ohio, The Haven of Rest Ministries in Akron, Ohio, Freedome House in Kent, Ohio, Lakeside Men's Shelter in Cleveland, Ohio.
Mr. Lykes has been a single father for over twenty-one years now and has firsthand knowledge on successfully navigating through the court system to gain custody, visitation and understanding child support issues. Mr. Lykes is trained as a Community Organizer and fueled by a passion to help others Mr. Lykes has advocated in National Campaigns to Raise the Minimum Wage, Stop Predatory Lending and Health Coverage for the Poor.
